Frequently asked questions

Anyone wanting to validate their German proficiency at CEFR levels A1 through C1 Hochschule may register. No prior certification is required, and applicants of any nationality are welcome.

A1–A2 covers basic everyday communication. B1 suits everyday life, work and visa or residency purposes. B2 is for confident communication and complex texts, useful for employment or further study. C1 and C1 Hochschule cover advanced academic or professional fluency. Contact us if you'd like help deciding.

Exams from A1 to C1 Hochschule must be completed in full — written and oral components on the same day. Partial attempts are only accepted when re-sitting a previously incomplete exam.

Registration is online and instant once payment is confirmed. You'll receive an email confirmation and can then choose your exam date and centre from your dashboard. Slots are released dynamically and booked on a first-come basis.

A one-time reschedule is available up to 10 days before your exam date, for a non-refundable fee of ₹5,000. After this window, rescheduling isn't possible except in documented medical emergencies, considered case-by-case at our discretion.

Exams are conducted in person at our Ahmedabad centre. Written sections are completed on laptops and the oral section in person with an examiner, all on the same day.

Bring the original ID used at registration. Arrive 30 minutes early for verification and seating. No printed pass is required — only writing tools and clear water are permitted; devices and notes must stay outside the exam room.

Results are typically published 4–6 weeks after the exam. telc issues your official certificate by email, and we'll notify you once it's dispatched.

Yes — you may retake any level as many times as needed.

Yes. telc certificates are accepted by embassies, universities, employers and government bodies across Europe and beyond. Exams are conducted in a controlled, invigilated, in-person setting, and certificates are issued by telc provided you tested at an authorised centre and followed all participation rules. The C1 Hochschule certification is especially valued for German university admissions.

Bring the original, valid government-issued ID used at registration — passport, or original PVC Aadhaar verified via DigiLocker — with a photo. Photocopies, scans, laminated copies, expired IDs, or any ID differing from your registration record will not be accepted. Passports are preferred, and admission is based strictly on matching your original ID and being present at the assigned time.

A one-time reschedule is available. Email a formal request to telc-support@germanstudio.in at least 10 days before your exam date, along with proof of payment of the non-refundable ₹5,000 rescheduling fee. Requests are subject to seat availability. After the 10-day window, rescheduling isn't possible and the fee is forfeited for non-attendance. Documented medical emergencies may be considered case-by-case at our discretion.

No — exam fees are non-refundable, including for no-shows, late arrivals, incorrect identification, or changes of plan. The reschedule window exists to give you flexibility before resources are committed; please inform us in advance if you can't attend so we can manage capacity fairly.

In person, using secure laptop-based assessment, invigilated by trained, telc-compliant proctors. We follow strict identity verification, timing and conduct rules, and you'll receive reporting timelines ahead of your exam.

We recommend official mock tests and our targeted preparation classes aligned with telc task types. After the exam, scripts are processed per the awarding body's procedures; grading timelines are set by telc, and certificates are issued and dispatched by telc.

Yes. We run teacher-training programmes covering communicative pedagogy, assessment literacy and exam preparation strategies, open to aspiring and in-service teachers who meet minimum proficiency and eligibility criteria. Participants receive a certificate of completion, with modules aligned to the telc assessment framework where applicable.

If you need wheelchair access or other assistance, contact us as early as possible — ideally three to four weeks ahead — so we can coordinate within telc policy. Documentation may be required, and we'll confirm feasibility in writing; late requests may not be possible.

Via email and SMS/WhatsApp for confirmations, schedule updates and centre instructions. Please keep your contact details accurate, and check your spam folder in case messages are filtered.

In rare cases such as force majeure, safety concerns or directives from the awarding body, we may reschedule your exam to the next suitable slot at no extra charge. Our liability is limited to rescheduling — we don't cover related costs like travel or accommodation.
