1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the German Studio website, candidate portal, and online exam booking platform (the “Platform”), including account registration, exam and course booking, payment, document upload, scheduling, invigilation, and related administrative services for telc examinations offered in India. By creating an account, verifying your mobile number or email, booking an exam, uploading identification documents, or making a payment on the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy, each of which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Platform.
2. Definitions
“German Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to German Studio and its authorised representatives operating under the ASIA Charitable Trust and German Studio partnership, as a licensed telc examination and training centre. “Candidate”, “you”, or “your” refers to any individual who registers on the Platform. “telc” refers to telc GmbH, the awarding body responsible for setting, grading, and certifying the examinations administered by German Studio. “Booking” refers to a confirmed reservation of an exam slot or course seat made through the Platform.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
To register on the Platform, you must be capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law and must meet any age, identity, or eligibility criteria stipulated by telc for the relevant examination. Account registration requires verification of your mobile number and/or email address via a one-time password (OTP). You agree to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and current personal information, including your full legal name exactly as it appears on your original identity document;
- Promptly update your details on the Platform if any information changes;
- Keep your login credentials and OTP confidential and not share your account with any other person;
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
German Studio reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any account that contains false, misleading, duplicate, or incomplete information, or that is used in violation of these Terms.
4. Identity Document Upload and Verification
The Platform requires you to upload copies of a valid government-issued identity document (such as a passport or Aadhaar card) and a recent photograph for candidate verification purposes prior to exam booking. You represent that all uploaded documents are genuine, current, and belong to you. Only the identity document uploaded and used at the time of registration will be accepted for admission on the exam day; a mismatch between the registered ID and the ID presented at the venue may result in refusal of entry, without refund. Uploaded documents are stored and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and are used solely for candidate verification, examination administration, and compliance with telc’s requirements.
5. Nature of Services and Relationship with telc
German Studio operates as an examination and training centre. Through the Platform, we provide slot booking, candidate verification, scheduling, invigilation, and administrative support for telc examinations conducted in an in-person, laptop-based format, together with teacher-training programmes. German Studio does not set exam content, grade examinations, or issue certificates; telc is the sole awarding body responsible for grading, results, and certification. German Studio adheres to telc’s policies and guidelines, which may be updated from time to time without prior notice, and the Platform’s booking rules will be adjusted accordingly.
6. Booking, Payment, and Fees
Exam and course slots displayed on the Platform are provisional until full payment is received. A Booking is confirmed only upon successful payment through the Platform’s approved online payment gateway. All fees are quoted in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any charges levied by your bank, card issuer, UPI provider, or payment gateway. A payment confirmation and booking reference will be sent to your registered email and/or mobile number; you are responsible for verifying receipt and must contact German Studio promptly at telc-exams@germanstudio.in if you do not receive a confirmation within a reasonable time.
All fees paid for examinations, courses, or rescheduling are strictly non-refundable except as expressly set out in our Refund Policy. Please refer to the Refund Policy for full details on cancellations, payment failures, and rescheduling.
7. Identity, Admission, and Late Arrival
There is no digital exam pass accepted for admission to telc examinations administered by German Studio. Admission to the exam venue is granted only upon presentation of the original, valid identity document used at the time of registration on the Platform, matched against candidate verification records. Candidates must arrive at least thirty (30) minutes prior to their scheduled slot for check-in. Late arrivals may be refused entry to preserve exam integrity. Refusal of entry on grounds of identity mismatch or late arrival does not entitle a candidate to a refund or a complimentary reschedule.
8. Candidate Conduct and Prohibited Items
By booking an exam through the Platform, you agree to comply with the Candidate Code of Conduct and all instructions given by invigilators at the venue. Prohibited items include, without limitation, unauthorised electronic devices, notes, reference materials, recording equipment, large pieces of jewellery, caps, and hats, and any item an invigilator deems to compromise exam security. Cheating, impersonation, disruption, or failure to follow instructions may result in immediate removal from the exam, invalidation of results, reporting to telc, and a ban from future bookings, in each case without refund.
9. Rescheduling
Candidates may request a one-time reschedule of a confirmed exam booking by submitting a formal written request to telc-exams@germanstudio.in no later than ten (10) days prior to the scheduled exam date, accompanied by payment of the applicable non-refundable rescheduling fee shown on the Platform at the time of the request. Rescheduling requests are subject to seat availability and operational constraints and are not guaranteed. Requests made after the 10-day deadline will not be accepted, and the full exam fee will be forfeited in the event of non-attendance. Candidates who experience a documented medical emergency may email a dated medical certificate to request a discretionary reschedule; such requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and approval remains solely at the discretion of German Studio.
10. Teacher Training Programmes
Enrolment in teacher-training programmes booked through the Platform is subject to eligibility checks and seat availability. Attendance, participation, and assessment requirements will be communicated at the start of the programme. Certificates of completion for training programmes are issued by German Studio upon successful fulfilment of the stated requirements. Training content and schedules may be updated to reflect current pedagogical or awarding-body practices.
11. Operational Changes and Force Majeure
German Studio may modify exam schedules, formats, or venues where necessary to comply with safety, regulatory, or telc requirements, and will reflect such changes on the Platform. In the event of force majeure — including natural disaster, public health orders, strikes, infrastructure or platform failures, or security incidents — German Studio may postpone or relocate a booked exam. In such cases, our obligation is limited to providing a replacement slot through the Platform; we are not liable for any incidental costs such as travel or accommodation.
12. Certificates, Results, and Timelines
Examination results and certificates are issued solely by telc. German Studio does not control grading timelines through the Platform and cannot expedite results beyond telc’s own processes. Candidates will be notified through the Platform and by email when results become available. Disputes regarding results, re-mark requests, or certificate corrections are handled under telc’s rules; German Studio may provide administrative assistance where permitted.
13. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, including but not limited to text, design, booking workflows, training materials, and exam-day documentation, is owned by or licensed to German Studio and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Platform content without German Studio’s prior written consent. The telc name and logo are the property of telc and are used by German Studio solely to describe its services as a licensed examination centre.
14. Communications and Notices
By registering on the Platform, you consent to receive transactional communications by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and phone for operational purposes, including OTP verification, booking confirmations, schedule or venue changes, payment receipts, and exam-day instructions. Marketing communications will only be sent in accordance with your consent preferences and our Privacy Policy. Notices sent to the email address, phone number, or in-Platform notification centre registered on your account are deemed delivered; you are responsible for keeping your contact details current.
15. Data Protection and Privacy
Personal information and identity documents collected through the Platform, including uploaded Aadhaar cards, passports, and photographs, are collected, stored, and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to such collection and processing for the purposes of account management, candidate verification, exam administration, and compliance with telc and applicable legal requirements.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, German Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to lost time, travel expenses, or lost opportunities. Our total aggregate liability in connection with any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to German Studio for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer protection laws, the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes arising from or relating to these Terms, the Refund Policy, or your use of the Platform.
18. Changes to These Terms
German Studio may update these Terms from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or telc-driven changes. The updated version will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
